Offense:  False Report to a Police Officer M-B $5,000.00
Arrested: Alcayde, Anthony Dwayne  h/m 41 years old
          2405 13th Av. N.
          Texas City, TX
               
 Victim:  Sanders, Craig
          5918 Clemons Ln.
          Texas City, TX

On March 7th 2010 at approximately 5:20 am, Texas City Police were dispatched to 1902 Texas Av. (Economy Lodge) in reference to a robbery just occurred.

Texas City Police made contact with the arrestee Anthony Dwayne Alcayde. Anthony Alcayde stated a black male had forced his way into his room and stole his wife's purse.

Anthony Alcayde  gave a description and a short time late officers stopped and detained Craig Sanders who matched the description. Craig Sanders was then transported back to the scene and Anthony Alcayde positively identified Craig Sanders as the person who forced his way into his room and stole his wife's purse.

Anthony Alcayde then went to the Texas City Police Station and gave a sworn statement to a Texas City Police Detective implicating Craig Sanders.
 
Craig Sanders was then transported to the Texas City Jail and secured in the booking area.

At approximately 8:00 am, Texas City Police went back to 1902 Texas Ave. and reviewed security camera footage. The security camera revealed that Anthony Dwayne Alcayde had given a false report regarding the robbery.

Anthony Dwayne Alcayde had also given a sworn statement to a Texas City Police Detective implicating Craig Sanders.
 
Craig Sanders was released from custody and Anthony Dwayne Alcayde was arrested for giving a false report.
Anthony Dwayne Alcayde is in the custody of the Texas City Jail waiting to be transferred to the Galveston County Jail.
